These are instructions to create the disks for yourself

First, create a new folder IE3_inst somewhere on your hard drive.

Now, download the file dlful30f.exe from here or from an alternate download site here into it.

Now, you can do one of two things: download the file Makedsks.zip that contains Makedsks.bat, a batch file i've created that will automatically create the 4 disks you need, or follow the instructions below.

If you choose to download my batch file, unzip it in the same directory (IE3_inst) where you dowloaded dlful30f.exe. Then run Makedsks.bat from the IE3_inst directory. Your disks will be created, just follow the instructions.

If you choose to do it by yourself, with Explorer or File Manager, go to the directory (IE3_inst) were you saved the file dlful30f.exe and run it (double-click) to extract the content.

Now, in the directory, in addition to the original dlful30f.exe you will get something like this:

FILES.INF 17,151 06-23-98
IEW31_1.CAB 1,144,320 06-23-98
IEW31_2.CAB 1,457,664 06-23-98
IEW31_3.CAB  1,457,664 06-23-98
IEW31_4.CAB 667,260 06-23-98
INSTALL.BIN 58,800 06-23-98
INSTALL.LST 841 06-23-98
LICENSE.TXT 8,012 06-23-98
README.TXT 23,934 06-23-98
SETUP.EXE 9,296 06-23-98
SETUP.INI 149 06-23-98

Now, prepare 4 empty formatted floppies. Put a label on each to identify the disk number.

Put disk #2 in the drive, and move IEW31_2.CAB to it.

Put disk #3 in the drive, and move IEW31_3.CAB to it.

Put disk #4 in the drive, and move IEW31_4.CAB to it.

Put disk #1 in the drive, and move everything else to it.
*(except the original file dlful30f.exe of course!)

That's it, you are done! Now insert disk #1 in the target computer,
and type a:\setup to start installing. Feed in the other disks when prompted.

When your install is done and IE is in working order, you can delete the
IE3_inst directory you created if you need to retrieve the space,
or keep it and the install file, for future use.
